HUMAN RAPID TEST

Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) Rapid Test (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma)

The Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) Rapid Test (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Parathyroid Hormone in human whole blood, serum or plasma.

Product Features

Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) is a crucial hormone secreted by the parathyroid glands, which are small nodules located on the thyroid gland in the neck. Its primary role is to regulate calcium levels in the blood. When blood calcium is low, PTH is released, acting to increase calcium levels by stimulating its release from bones, enhancing its absorption in the intestines (via activation of vitamin D), and reducing its excretion in the kidneys. Conversely, high calcium levels suppress PTH secretion. Abnormal PTH levels can lead to disorders: hyperparathyroidism causes high blood calcium, potentially weakening bones and forming kidney stones, while hypoparathyroidism results in low calcium, causing muscle cramps and tingling.
